In the late 90s Atari Teenage Riot (ATR) was seen as part of the electronica genre, but in reality the band had nothing in common with it. It was too avant-garde, too radical in its views and statements, simply too loud and noisy to fit in. The original conception was Alec Empire's. It was a unique line up, almost superhero like, and when Hanin Elias, Nic Endo, Carl Crack and Alec hit the stage in some cities in the South of the USA, the mixed race, mixed sex image of the band provoked people before they even heard the music. A female vocalist like Hanin who screams about police violence and revolution, and Nic Endo who was in control of all electronic gear on stage and sent earthquakes of sound waves was simply against all rules of rock and techno music. They opened many doors for female artists to follow at this time.

West Collection - Visit artists in the studio

The foremost goal of the West Collection is to meet young artists who are creating challenging and inventive work and to present an experience of this new art to the public. Since the mid-90’s, the West family has loaned most of the collection to SEI Investments, which Al West founded in the late 60’s and runs today. Curator Paige West has actively grown the collection to extend beyond SEI, to include loans to museums and university galleries. A major goal in collecting has been to visit artists in the studio and to understand their reasons for making art. In presenting the artwork to the public, our goal is to impart an experience of the artists studio to the viewer through our installations and accessible traveling exhibitions.

Romanii cu rate pot ramane peste noapte si fara case si cu datoriile neplatite * Bancile executa garantiile imobiliare in cea mai mare taina, la licitatii stiute doar de "samsarii de case" si functionarii avizati

"Bancile sunt camatari cu acte in regula", spunea cu naduf, pe un post de televiziune, un roman care, ajuns somer din cauza crizei, se temea acum ca va ramane si fara casa. Restantele la credite s-au dublat in ultimul an si tot mai multi sunt cei care, ajunsi in imposibilitate de a-si mai plati ratele, risca sa fie aruncati in strada.


Bancile, care acum se vaita ca au nevoie urgenta de ajutorul statului, au anuntat venituri record pentru anul 2008. Credite cu dobanzi absurde au fost date de-a valma oricui a vrut, profitand uneori chiar de naivitatea sau nestiinta celor care se indatorau pe zeci de ani. Diferentele uriase intre dobanzile la credite si cele la depozite au stimulat lacomia bancilor, care au uitat de cea mai elementara prudenta. Nu ne facem insa griji pentru ele.

Preturi de nimic
Scoaterea la licitatie a unui imobil poate sa stinga datoria sau, dimpotriva, poate sa lase datornicul intr-o situatie cumplita, dator la banca pentru zeci de ani. Totul depinde, in mare masura, de numarul de "clienti" care au citit anuntul de vanzare si au participat la licitatie. Regula spune ca la prima licitatie se cere 100% din valoarea garantiei, dar ca de cele mai multe ori la acestea nu se prezinta mai nimeni. "Profesionistii care vin la licitatie stiu mecanismul si nu vor sa vina la primul termen, vin de la al doilea termen. Se numesc geambasi de case. Nu cumpara pentru ei, ci ca sa revanda ulterior la un pret mai bun", spune Ilie Dinu, membru fondator al Asociatiei Executorilor Bancari (AEB). Astfel, abia de la a doua licitatie, imobilul devine interesant pentru "samsarii de case" pentru ca pretul de pornire este cu 25% mai mic decat s-a cerut initial si se poate ajunge la sume "fabu­los" de mici. Preşedintele Trajean Băsinescu a ieşit ieri la rampă, avertizându-i pe români să înceapă să-şi plătească restanţele la credite, după ce numărul datornicilor la bănci a crescut îngrijorător, începând cu finele anului trecut. “Se pare că foarte mulţi cred că dacă este criză, îşi pot permite să nu ramburseze creditele”, a spus Băsescu, la finalul unei întâlniri cu reprezentanţii mediului bancar. El a făcut astfel un apel “extrem de serios” către cei care nu au probleme de rambursare să-şi achite ratele în timp util. www.gandul.info

Preşedintele Trajean Băsinescu a avertizat ieri că statul va acţiona contra celor care nu vor în mod deliberat să-şi plătească datoriile către bănci. „Foarte mulţi cred că dacă este criză îşi pot permite să nu ramburseze creditele. Apelul extrem de serios este ca aceia care nu au probleme să o facă, şi să o facă în timp util. Preşedintele îi îndeamnă pe români să meargă la bănci pentru a cere credit, deşi condiţiile de acordare sunt înrobitoare, fără a cere şi bancherilor să fie mai flexibili. Argumentul şefului statului: văzând că există cerere, băncile vor relaxa creditarea.

Presedintele Traian Basescu ii avertizeaza pe cei care vor sa fraudeze bancile de la care s-au imprumutat ca, in cazul in care nu isi vor rambursa creditele, statul va interveni. Totodata, presedintele se declara optimist in ceea ce priveste cresterea economica a Romaniei in acest an si afirma ca aceasta va fi pozitiva. Acelasi optimism este impartasit si de guvernatorul Bancii Nationale a Romaniei (BNR), Mugur Isarescu.
