UFC 93 – Henderson Beats Franklin

Dan Henderson outlasted Rich Franklin via a three round split decision in the main event of UFC 93 Saturday night, not only answering the recurring question of who would win between the two MMA superstars, but also giving “Hendo” the coaching spot on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. Scores were 29-28 twice for Henderson, with the third judge scoring it 30-27 for Franklin.

Masacrul de la Balc

25 de invitaţi dintre bogaţii lumii, 50 de gonaci şi 30 de vânători profesionişti, plus şapte căruţe. Aşa arată în cifre vânătoarea de la Balc, organizată de omul de afaceri Ion Ţiriac.Mistreţii din Balc sunt crescuţi şi îngrăşaţi special pentru asa zisele partidele de vânătoare care au loc în fiecare an în luna ianuarie. Domeniul de vânătoare din zona Balc (Bihor) a fost înfiinţat în secolul 18, pe vremea împărătesei Maria Tereza.
În anii comunismului, el a fost frecventat de Nicolae Ceauşescu şi de invitaţii lui. Comuna Balc a devenit cu adevărat celebră în momentul în care tradiţia masacrului a fost preluată de Ion Ţiriac.

Istoricul masacrului cinegetic

Dupa vanatoarea din anul 2005, cand fostul premier Adrian Nastase a rapus 24 de mistreti, presa a scris ca la Balc a fost un adevarat masacru. Scandalul Balc a luat amploare in momentul in care presa a dezvaluit pretul pe care miliardarul Ion Tiriac il platea pentru concesionarea domeniului de vanatoare din Bihor. Este vorba de 12 milioane de lei vechi pe an. In 2005, Ministerul Agriculturii a suspendat contractul de concesiune cu Asociatia “Zimbrul”, apartinand magnatului, si a organizat o alta licitatie. Au fost depuse trei oferte: “Zimbrul”, “AV Wild Boar” (ambele ale magnatului) si Asociatia Judeteana a Vanatorilor si Pescarilor Sportivi Bihor. Avand in vedere scandalul tesut in legatura cu “Asociatia Zimbrul”, Tiriac a retras-o in ultimul moment de la licitatie, castigand competitia cu Wild Boar. Magnatul plateste anual Ministerului Agriculturii o redeventa in valoare de aproximativ 900 de milioane de lei vechi, si a incheiat un contract de inchiriere valabil pana in anul 2015.

Distractia magnatilor

In fiecare an, printre invitati s-au numarat importanti oameni de afaceri din Europa si personalitati politice. Anul trecut, printre invitati s-au numarat Max Emmanuel von Thurn und Taxis (latifundiar german), Klaus Mangold (presedintele Daimler Chrysler), Wolfgang Porsche (mostenitorul companiei auto cu acelasi nume), Alfred Baumhauer (fabricant Cartier), Siegfried Wolf (presedintele companiei de componente auto Magna Europa), Franz Rauch (“regele” european al sucurilor), Rudolf Streicher (membru in mai multe guverne ale Austriei, candidat prezidential si sef al partidului socialist), Carlo Pesanti (presedintele Italcementi). Neiesindu-si din obicei, si in editia din acest an omul de afaceri are ca invitati peste 25 de reprezentanti din elitele politicului sau ai mediului de afaceri. Din lista celebritatilor din toata lumea face parte un singur american, un foarte cunoscut businessman din Indianapolis, potrivit Indistar.com. Mark Miles, presedintele si directorul executiv al Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, in varsta de 55 de ani, este un partener din lumea afacerilor si a sportului pentru Ion Tiriac, in care se mai regasesc si Boris Becker, Goran Ivanisevici si Ilie Nastase. Omul de afaceri american, care a condus turneele ATP in perioada 1990-2005, l-a cunoscut pe Tiriac si s-au imprietenit in lumea tenisului, iar acum sase ani, cand legenda tenisului din Romania a inceput sa organizeze anual partide de vanatoare de mistreti, Miles s-a numarat printre primii lui invitati. Citat de Indystar.com, a plecat ieri spre Romania, afirmand ca abia asteapta sa participe la cinele traditionale, cu mancare si muzica romaneasca, care au fost anuntate pentru acest week-end la vanatorile din Balc.
